Mar: Thelonious Monk's management company cancels Monk's three-week, eight-city tour of colleges, beginning in early April, after unfavorable reviews about the February 28th Town Hall concert are written in the New York Times by John S. Wilson and in the Village Voice by Nat Hentoff. Adams' entire schedule for the month of March was dedicated to paid rehearsals, at which the Monk band was to rehearse new Hall Overton arrangements written for the upcoming tour. The tour's cancellation negated two month's of work for all of its bandmembers.
